Top-hat filter

Hey kiddo, do you know how we can make pictures look better when they are taken in low light situations? We can use something called a top-hat filter which helps to enhance the contrast and make the image clearer.

Imagine you are looking at a picture that has some bright spots and some dark spots on it. Now, we want to get rid of those bright spots, but still keep the dark spots so that the image looks clearer. A top-hat filter can help us do that!

Now let's say we want to use this filter to make a picture of a flower look better. First, we take the picture and then apply the top-hat filter which helps to bring out the details of the flower. This means that we can see the petals of the flower much better, and the colors are much more vibrant too.

So, basically, a top-hat filter improves the overall quality of an image by sharpening the edges and enhancing the contrast of the image. It is like using a magic wand to make everything look perfect!
