Toponymic surname

Hey there, kiddo! Have you ever wondered why some people have different last names than others? Well, some people's last names are based on a special thing called a toponym!

A toponymic surname simply means that our last name is based on the name of a place. For example, if your family comes from the town of Smithsville, then it's possible that your last name could be Smith!

Toponymic surnames can come from lots of different places, such as a town, a city, a region, or even a country! People might have chosen these surnames because they lived there or had ancestors who did a long time ago.

So that's a toponymic surname for you, little buddy! It's just a special last name that tells us where our family or ancestors come from.
