Traditional Chinese medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a way of taking care of your body by using natural things like herbs, acupuncture, and massage.

In TCM, your body is seen as a garden where energy flows through in a balanced way. If one part of the garden is not working right, like if there are weeds growing, it can affect the health of the whole garden.

When you are feeling sick or unbalanced, TCM doctors will look at the different parts of your garden, like your organs, to find out what is causing the problem. They might use herbs, which are special plants that help your body feel better, or acupuncture, which involves putting tiny needles in your skin to help your energy flow better.

TCM doctors also believe that what we eat and how we live can affect our energy and health. So they might suggest eating certain foods or doing certain exercises to help keep you healthy.

TCM has been used for a really long time - like thousands of years - in China and other parts of the world. It's a different way of looking at health than Western medicine, which focuses more on drugs and surgery. But both TCM and Western medicine can be helpful for different health problems.
