Transfer station (waste management)

A transfer station is a special place where garbage trucks come to unload all the trash they collected from different neighborhoods. It's like a big, empty parking lot where the garbage trucks can dump all the trash they collected into a big pile.

Once the trash is piled up, it is moved into bigger trucks called transfer trailers. These are like super trucks that can carry a lot more trash than regular garbage trucks. The transfer trailers take the trash to a bigger waste management facility so it can be sorted, recycled or disposed of properly.

Think of it like if you had a lot of toys in your room and your mom or dad helped you put them in a big bin to take to a bigger storage room. The bigger room is like the waste management facility and the bin is like the transfer trailer.

Transfer stations are important because they help to keep the city or town clean and reduce the amount of trash that ends up in landfills. Plus, they let the garbage trucks have a place to unload and continue their job of collecting trash.
