ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transmodernity

Transmodernity is a big word that means a new way of thinking about the world. It's like when you learn new things and your brain grows bigger, you start to look at things differently. Transmodernity is like that, but for the whole world!

In the past, people used to think that there was only one way of doing things, and that way was the best. But transmodernity says that there are many different ways of doing things, and they can all be good in their own way.

For example, let's say you like pizza. You might think that the only way to eat pizza is with tomato sauce and cheese on top. But transmodernity says that you can also eat pizza with different kinds of sauce, or without cheese, and it can still be delicious! And this doesn't just apply to pizza, but to everything in life.

Transmodernity also says that we need to be open to different cultures and ideas. Just because something is different from what we're used to, doesn't mean it's wrong. We should try to learn from other cultures and ways of thinking, and be accepting of people who are different from us.

In summary, transmodernity is a new way of thinking about the world. It says that there are many different ways of doing things, and we should be open to different cultures and ideas.
