Transparency and translucency

Transparency means you can see straight through something, like a window. When you look through a window, you can see the things on the other side very clearly. That's because the window is transparent.

Translucency, on the other hand, means that you can see through something, but it's not completely clear. Think about a frosted window. When you look through a frosted window, you can see that there's something on the other side, but you can't see it very clearly. The glass is translucent.

So basically, transparency means you can see through something very clearly, while translucency means you can see through something, but it's not completely clear.
