Do you remember when I taught you about the product rule? It was when you were learning how to multiply two things together. Well, the triple product rule is a bit like that, but with three things.
Imagine you have three friends and they each have a cake. You want to know how many total pieces of cake you can get if each cake is cut into 4 pieces. So, you use the triple product rule.
First, you multiply the number of pieces of cake in the first friend's cake (4) by the number of pieces in the second friend's cake (also 4): 4 x 4 = 16.
Next, you multiply that result (16) by the number of pieces in the third friend's cake (4): 16 x 4 = 64.
So, the triple product rule tells you that if each cake is cut into 4 pieces and you have three cakes, you can get a total of 64 pieces of cake.
Remember, the triple product rule is simply a way to multiply three things together, just like the product rule is a way to multiply two things together.
