ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Turpin case

So, there was a family called the Turpins who lived in California, and they were discovered to be doing some really bad stuff. They had 13 kids, and they were all being kept locked up and chained in their house. They were very hungry and didn't have enough food, and they were not going to school or playing with other kids like normal kids should. It turns out that their parents were not taking care of them, and they were doing things that were hurting the kids.

The police rescued the kids and arrested the parents, and now the parents are in trouble for what they did. The kids are getting help and support from other people who want to make sure they are safe and healthy again. The Turpin case is something that reminds us that we need to take care of each other and be kind, especially to kids who can't always take care of themselves.
