ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tyneham

Tyneham is a place in England where people used to live a long time ago. However, during a big war called World War II, the government needed to use the land for training soldiers. So, they asked the people who lived in Tyneham to leave their homes and not come back until the war was over.

The people who lived in Tyneham had to leave their homes, schools, and churches behind. They were told by the government that they could come back to Tyneham after the war was over. However, the war lasted a long time and the people were never able to return to their homes.

Today, Tyneham is a ghost village. This means that no one lives there anymore, and all of the buildings are old and empty. People can visit Tyneham to see what life was like in England a long time ago, but they cannot live there or use it for anything else.
