Types of rape

Rape is when someone hurts you in a way that involves your private parts. There are a few different types of rape that can happen.

1. "Forced penetration" rape is when someone puts their private part inside you without your permission. This can happen to people of any gender.
2. "Drug-facilitated" rape is when someone uses drugs or alcohol to make you unable to say no or be aware of what is happening. This can happen to people of any gender.
3. "Date rape" or "acquaintance rape" is when someone you know or are dating hurts you in a sexual way without your permission. This can happen to people of any gender.
4. "Statutory rape" is when someone has sex with you when you are too young to legally consent (or say yes). The legal age for this varies depending on where you live, but it usually means that you are under 17 years old.
