Ullage

Okay kiddo, let's talk about ullage! Ullage is a big word that means "the empty space at the top of a container." You know how sometimes you fill up your cup with juice or water, but you don't fill it ALL the way to the tippy top? That's ullage!

Ullage is really important when it comes to things like storing liquids, especially if they're special liquids like wine or gasoline that need to be kept in certain conditions. When there's too much ullage in a container, it can cause the liquid inside to spoil or evaporate too quickly. But if there isn't enough ullage, the liquid can get shaken up and start to spill out of the container. So it's really important to make sure you have the right amount of ullage when storing liquids!
