Unicameralism

Unicameralism is like having one big room in your house where all your family members come together to make important decisions. Normally, a house has many rooms for different purposes but in this case, there is only one big room where everything happens.

In the same way, when we talk about unicameralism in politics, it means there is only one group of people that makes laws and decisions for the whole country. This is opposed to having two groups, which is called bicameralism.

Just like in a house, where each room has a different purpose, each group in bicameralism has a different purpose. For example, in the United States, there is the House of Representatives and the Senate. They both have different jobs, but they both need to agree on laws before they can be passed.

When a country has unicameralism, it means there is no need for two separate groups to agree on laws. Instead, all the lawmakers come together in one big room to talk about important issues and make decisions. This can make the process of passing laws faster and more efficient because there are less people involved.

But just like in a house with one big room, it can also be chaotic at times because there are many people talking and trying to make themselves heard. It also means that one group has all the power, which can be good or bad depending on how it is used.
