United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack public hearings

Okay kiddo, there was a really big and important day in the United States on January 6th, 2021. On that day, a group of people went to the US Capitol building where the people who run the country work. They got really angry and broke into the building, which was very scary for the people inside.

Now, the United States has a group of important people called Congress who make the laws. They have a big meeting place called the Capitol building, which is where the angry people broke in. After that happened, some of the Congress people decided to form a special group called the United States House Select Committee to figure out what happened and why it happened.

They wanted to talk to lots of people who were involved or who know about what happened on January 6th. These people included police officers, people who work in the Capitol building, and even some of the people who were there in the angry group.

So, the United States House Select Committee held some public hearings where these people came to talk and answer questions. They wanted to figure out why the angry people came to the Capitol building, what they wanted to do when they got inside, and how they were able to get in despite the police trying to stop them.

The hearings were broadcast on TV so that everyone in the country could watch and learn what was happening. All of this is really important so that the United States can make sure that something like this doesn't happen again and everyone stays safe.
