ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Universal algebra

Universal algebra is a type of math that looks at how groups of things work together. It looks at how two or more things can work together even if they are different from each other. For example, if you have two cups of water and two spoons of sugar, universal algebra would look at how the two cups of water and the two spoons of sugar work together as a group. Universal algebra can also be used to look at different types of shapes like circles, squares and triangles and how they can fit together.
