ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Unspoken Water

Okay, imagine you have a cup of water. You can see it, you can drink it, and you can splash it around. But what if I told you there is water you can't see, drink, or splash around? That water is called unspoken water.

Unspoken water is the water that is hidden in the air or in the ground. You can't see it because it's invisible. However, you can feel it on a humid day when the air feels heavy and sticky. You know it's there, but you can't see it.

When it rains, some of the water soaks into the ground and becomes unspoken water. Plants drink this water to grow, animals drink it to survive, and it helps rivers and lakes stay full.

But just because unspoken water is hidden, it doesn't mean it's unimportant. We rely on unspoken water every day for so many things, from growing our food to producing electricity to keeping us hydrated.

So always remember, even though you can't see it, there is always water all around us.
