ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Uploaded astronaut

Once upon a time, there was a brave astronaut who went to space in a spaceship. While the astronaut was in space, he took some pictures and recorded some videos of the Earth and the stars. These pictures and videos were saved on a special device called a camera.

When the astronaut came back to Earth, he wanted to share his pictures and videos with the people on the planet. To do this, he had to transfer the data from the camera to a computer. The computer is like a big brain that can store all kinds of information.

To transfer the data, the astronaut connected the camera to the computer using a cable. The cable is like a long string that connects two things together. The computer then started to read the data from the camera and saved it on its memory.

Once the data was saved on the computer, the astronaut could choose to share it with the people on Earth. He could upload the data to the internet. The internet is like a big library where people can share information with each other. To upload the data, the astronaut clicked on a button on the computer screen that said "upload." This button sends the data from the computer to the internet.

Now, people from all over the world can see the pictures and videos the astronaut took in space by accessing the internet. They can watch and learn more about space and the Earth. And that's how an astronaut uploads data to the internet!
