Urim and Thummim

Urim and Thummim were two special stones that were used long ago by people called the Israelites. The stones were kept in the front of a type of priest's cap, called a breastplate. Whenever the Israelites wanted to know God's will about an important decision, the priest would take out the stones and God would give an answer by making the stones shine. That was how the Israelites figured out what to do in tough situations.
