Utility frequency

Utility frequency is like the speed of your electricity. It is measured in a unit called "Hertz" (Hz), and it tells us how many times per second the electricity is switching direction. In the United States, the electricity we use is delivered to our homes at a frequency of 60 Hz, which means it switches back and forth 60 times each second. That's faster than most people can even count!
