Vörðr

Vörðr is a word from an ancient language called Old Norse. It means "guardian" or "protector". Back in the olden days, people believed in many gods and goddesses who controlled different things like the weather, the oceans, and even the fate of people.

One of the most important gods in Norse mythology was Odin. He had two ravens, named Huginn and Muninn, who flew all around the world and brought back information to Odin. Vörðr was like a personal raven, but for humans.

People could believe that they had a vörðr who watched over them and protected them from harm. It was kind of like having a guardian angel! They believed that their vörðr would follow them wherever they went and keep them safe from danger.

Even though not many people believe in vörðr today, it's still important because it teaches us about mythology and how ancient civilizations thought about the world around them.
