ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Variable structure control

Variable Structure Control is a way to control machines like robots or computers. It uses conditions and rules to decide how to make the machine act or what decisions it should take. To do this it looks at the input and output of the machine and then makes decisions based on how these are related. For example, if you want a robot to move from one place to another it might look at the input (where it is currently) and its output (where it wants to go) and then use some conditions and rules to decide how to get there.
