Varian's theorems

Varian’s theorem is a mathematical idea that tells us how much energy is needed to change the shape or size of something. Imagine you have a rubber ball. You can squeeze the ball in your hand and make it smaller. This takes energy. The theorem says that anytime you change the shape of something, like making a ball smaller, you have to use energy.
