Venus (mythology)

Venus was a lady in ancient stories that people used to tell. She was very beautiful and people liked to talk about her all the time! They believed that she was the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and even money in a lot of different stories.

In these old stories, Venus was usually pictured as a lady with long hair and a beautiful dress, often standing on a big shell or riding in a chariot pulled by swans. People thought that she had special powers that could make people feel love, find a good partner or even help them have a baby!

Many people in Ancient Rome also worshipped Venus as a goddess, and they built beautiful temples and statues in her honor. She was very important to them, and they even named a whole day of the week after her - Friday (or Venus-day - get it?)!

Even though Venus is just a story from a long time ago, she is still very famous today. People still love to talk about her and even use her name to describe beautiful things or people they love.
