ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Very high-level programming language

Computer programs are written in different languages, just like people speak different languages to communicate. Some programming languages are hard to understand, like a doctor's notes, and some are easier to understand, like the way Mommy and Daddy talk to you. Very high-level programming language is like the easy way Mommy and Daddy talk.

In these languages, the commands to the computer are written using words and phrases that are easy to remember and use. They use a lot of English words and are designed to make it easy for people who are not experts in programming to write computer programs. For example, if you want to print something on the screen, you can say “print” and the computer will do it for you. Just like how you say "please" and "thank you" to be polite, these languages make sure the computer does what you want it to do.

These languages are so easy to use that they are used to teach kids how to program. You can learn how to use them in school or by yourself, just like how you learn to read and write. But they have one downside: some of these languages are not as powerful as other languages, and can only do simpler tasks.

Overall, very high-level programming languages make it easier for people to write code and communicate with computers, just like how you communicate with your friends and family.
