Vidame

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of the word "vidame" before? No? Well, it's because it's not a very common word these days but it used to be important in Europe a long, long time ago.

A vidame was a type of person who had a special job in medieval times. They worked for the church and were kind of like helpers for the bishop in charge of a certain area. They were responsible for helping with important things like collecting taxes, settling disputes between people, and making sure everyone was following the rules that the church had set up.

Nowadays, the job of the vidame doesn't really exist anymore because things have changed a lot since medieval times. But people still know about them because they show up in some old history books and stories. So if you ever hear someone talking about a vidame, now you know a little bit about what they used to do!
