Video Remote Interpreting

Hey kiddo, have you ever heard of someone providing translation services to help people who speak different languages understand each other better? Well, when this happens through a video call, it's called video remote interpreting (VRI).

Let's say that someone who only speaks Spanish goes to a hospital in the USA, but the doctors and nurses only speak English. Without VRI, it would be very hard for them to communicate and understand each other. But with VRI, the patient can talk to a remote interpreter through a video call. The interpreter can see and hear both the patient and the healthcare provider, and translates their conversation so that they can understand each other.

This is really helpful because sometimes, it's hard or impossible to find an interpreter who speaks the right language in the same place as the person who needs them. VRI means that people who speak different languages can still communicate through a video call, even if they're hundreds of miles away from each other.

Isn't that cool, kiddo?
