Vinculum (symbol)

Ok kiddo, imagine you have a lot of toys and you want to put them all together in a special box. But the box is not big enough for all your toys! What can you do?
Well, you can use a special symbol called a "vinculum" to help you put the toys together. It looks like a long line above or below the toys.
When you use a vinculum, it tells you to put all the numbers or symbols together as if they were one big toy. This is helpful when doing math problems or writing long strings of numbers because it makes everything easier to read and understand. So next time you see a vinculum symbol, remember that it helps you put things together like your toys!
