ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Visual journalism

Visual journalism is a way of telling news stories using pictures and videos instead of just words. It's like telling a story with pictures, just like a book with lots of pictures in it.

So, say there's a news story about a big fire that happened. Instead of just writing about it, visual journalists would go to the place where the fire happened and take pictures and videos of the damage, the firefighters putting out the flames, and the people who were affected by the fire.

Then, they would use these pictures and videos to help tell the story of the fire. The pictures and videos make the story more interesting and help people understand what happened more clearly.

Visual journalism can be used in lots of different ways, like in newspapers, magazines, TV news, and even online. It's a really important way of sharing news with people, especially if they might not have time to read a long article.
