ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Voter registration

Voter Registration is like signing up for a special club, only instead of getting a membership card, you get to have a say in who gets to be in charge of your city, state, or country!

To join this club, you need to fill out a form that asks for your name, address, and some other information about you, like your age and citizenship. This form is kind of like a quiz that helps the people in charge (the government) make sure you're allowed to vote and that you're not voting more than once.

Once you've filled out the form and given it to the government, you're officially a member of the voting club! You can now go to a special place (called a polling station) on election day and cast your vote for the person or party you want to win the election.

So, being a member of the voting club means you have the power to help decide who makes decisions that affect your life and your community. That's pretty exciting, don't you think?
