Vytynanky (Wycinanki)
Have you ever seen a pretty picture made out of paper that has lots of little holes and shapes cut out of it? That's called vytynanky, or wycinanki in some places. People have been making them for a long time, especially in places like Ukraine and Poland.
To make a vytynanky, first the artist picks out a piece of paper in a color they like. Then, they draw a picture on the paper with a pencil or marker. This picture can be anything they want, like an animal or a flower or a person. After they draw the picture, they take a special tool called scissors and carefully cut out all the parts of the picture that they don't need. This can take a long time and lots of practice to do just right!
