Waterborne diseases

Waterborne diseases are illnesses that spread when people drink, swim in, or touch contaminated water. These diseases can be caused by harmful germs like bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are in the water. When the germs get inside the body, they make us sick. Some common waterborne diseases are cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis A. To help prevent getting a waterborne disease, it's important to only drink and swim in water that is clean and not contaminated.
