ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Waterway

A waterway is like a big path for water to go through. Just like how people walk on paths to get from one place to another, water also needs a path to flow from one place to another.

Waterways can be natural, like rivers or streams, or they can be man-made, like canals or water channels. Big ships can even travel through some waterways, like the Panama Canal or the Suez Canal.

Waterways are really important for transportation and trade because they allow boats and ships to move goods and people from one place to another. They also provide drinking water for people and animals, and help irrigate crops for farmers.

The animals that live in waterways, like fish and turtles, need them to survive too. They use the waterways to find food and shelter.

So, waterways are like big paths for water that help people, animals, and plants stay healthy and connected.
