ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Wheel and axle

Well kiddo, do you know what a wheel looks like? It's a big circle with a hole in the middle, right? And an axle is like a long stick that goes through the hole in the middle of the wheel. When the wheel turns around the axle, it can make things move.

Have you ever ridden a bike or a wagon? Those both have wheels and axles. When you pedal your bike, the pedals turn a chain that spins the wheel. And when you pull a wagon, the wheels turn on the axles and help move the wagon along.

Another example is a car. The wheels turn on the axles when the car moves. And even things like doorknobs and screwdrivers use wheel and axle systems to help them turn.

So basically, the wheel and axle is a simple machine that helps things move and turn. The wheel is the big part that spins around and the axle is the stick that holds it in place. And together, they can help make all sorts of machines and tools work!
