Whitewash

Whitewash is like painting, but with a special kind of paint that is sort of like a really thin paste. People often use whitewash to cover up things that are old or dirty, or to make something look brighter and cleaner.

You make whitewash by mixing water with a special kind of powdery thing called lime. Lime is made from rocks that have been heated up really hot, and it is very powdery and can be kind of messy.

When you mix the lime with water, it makes a kind of thin paste that you can paint on walls or other things. People often use a brush to spread the whitewash around, which can be fun but also messy.

One thing to remember about whitewash is that it can be kind of tricky to work with. Sometimes it can be hard to get the consistency just right, and if it's too thin or too thick, it won't work very well.

But once you get the hang of it, whitewash can be a really cool way to make things look new again, or to brighten up a room or a garden or anything else that needs a fresh coat of paint.
