William Sealy Gosset was a mathematician who worked at a brewery in England in the early 1900s. He wanted to be able to use statistics to help the brewery figure out how they could make the best beer. Gosset figured out how to use statistics to make better predictions about the chances of something happening. He developed a new way of doing statistics called "Student's t-test," which is still used today by scientists and researchers to figure out the odds of a certain result happening. He used his t-test to help the brewery make the best beer, and it was a huge success!
