ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Women in the United States Navy

Okay kiddo, let me explain to you about women in the United States Navy. The Navy is a part of the military that protects our country in the sea, and they have ships that sail across the ocean to keep us safe.

Many women also want to serve our country by being a part of the Navy. Women have been allowed to join the Navy for a long time, but there was a time when they were not allowed to do all the same things as men were allowed to do in the Navy.

Nowadays, women in the Navy can do almost all the same jobs as men. They can drive ships, fix airplanes, and even serve as Navy SEALs if they pass the same training tests as men. Women in the Navy are treated equally and they get the same training and opportunities as men.

It's not always easy being a woman in the Navy. They have to work hard to prove themselves just like everyone else in the military. But women in the Navy get to be a part of a very important team that keeps our country safe and strong. And that's something to be proud of, no matter what gender you are!
