Work breakdown structure

A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is like a map of a project. It is a way to break down all of the different pieces that are needed to complete a project or task. It can help you to organize, plan, and manage all of the different activities that need to be completed.

Think about a house. To build a house you need a lot of different parts and activities. A work breakdown structure helps you to figure out exactly what needs to be done and in what order. It can be a picture, a chart, or a list.

Each part of the WBS should have a name, a description of what needs to be done, and who is responsible for completing it.

For example, one part of the WBS for a house might look like this:
- Buy supplies: list of materials that need to be purchased for the project (Person responsible: contractor)
- Lay the foundation: building a concrete slab (Person responsible: contractor)
- Install walls: framing and installing the walls (Person responsible: carpenter)
- Paint interior: painting the interior walls (Person responsible: painter)

You can break down each item on the WBS into even smaller items, if needed. By breaking down each part of the project into small, manageable pieces, you can ensure that all the tasks are completed on time, and in the correct order.
