Year of Africa

Okay kiddo, so the Year of Africa is something that happened a long time ago, in 1960. Back then, many countries in Africa were getting their independence. That means they were becoming their own countries, with their own governments and leaders, instead of being controlled by other countries.

So the Year of Africa was a special year when people all around the world celebrated Africa and the amazing things happening there. It was a really important time because it showed that Africa was strong and could take care of itself.

Today, we still celebrate the Year of Africa to remember everything that happened in 1960 and to honor the independence and strength of African countries.
