Yonaguni Monument

The Yonaguni Monument is a big, old, and mysterious structure that was found underwater near the island of Yonaguni in Japan. It is made up of big rocks and looks like steps and walls. Some people think it might have been made by people a long time ago, while others believe it might just be a natural formation made by the ocean waves over the years.

Imagine you're playing with toys at the beach and you build a big castle made of sand. Later on, waves come and wash the sand away, and you're left with only a bunch of wet sand pieces. That's similar to what might have happened with the Yonaguni Monument - the ocean waves over a very long time might've formed the big rocks into a structure that looks man-made.

So some grown-ups who study ancient things believe that people might've lived on Yonaguni island long ago and built this strange structure. They think it could be around 10,000 years old, which is older than what most grown-ups believe the pyramids in Egypt are! But others don't agree and think that it's just a natural rock formation.

In any case, the Yonaguni Monument is still a mystery today, and scientists are still trying to figure out how it came to be and what its purpose might have been.
