Apeiron (cosmology)

Apeiron was an ancient Greek idea that the universe had no beginning or end, and was made of a single infinite substance called the Apeiron. This means the universe is an eternal, boundless substance that has always existed, will never end, and will never change. This idea was proposed by the philosopher Anaximander of Miletus in the 6th century BC and was seen as a revolutionary concept at the time. The Apeiron is made up of a nasty swirling mix of water, air, and fire that is constantly in movement. These elements can mix and separate, which is why we have day and night, seasons and weather.
