Due process

Due process is about making sure that when someone is accused of something or accused of breaking laws, the government needs to follow certain steps and give a fair trial. It helps to protect us from the government acting unfairly. First, the accused person needs to be told what they are accused of, so they can understand the charges. Then, they are given a fair trial in court where they can present their side, and there is a jury to decide if they are guilty or not. Finally, the jury's decision needs to be approved by the judge to make sure that it is fair. Without due process, someone could be unfairly accused and punished without a fair trial, which is not right.
