ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

1% rule (Internet culture)

The 1% rule is like when you go to a party and only a few people do most of the talking or dancing. On the internet, it means that only about 1% of people who use a website or social media platform actually create new content like posts, pictures, or videos. The other 99% just read or watch what’s there. It’s kind of like the “cool kids” at a party who get all the attention while everyone else just quietly watches. But that’s okay, because without those 99%, there wouldn’t be anyone to appreciate what the 1% is creating.
