50 Cent Party

A 50 cent party is a group of people in China who get paid a small amount of money – usually fifty cents – to post comments online. These posts are mostly positive messages and stories that support the Chinese government, its leaders, and its policies. The 50 cent party is also sometimes called the "Internet Nationalism Army" because of the patriotic messages they spread. Basically, the Chinese government pays people to spread their messages and make the country look good online.
