Access-Control List (ACL) is a way for computers to keep track of who is allowed to do what on a network or device. It is like having a list of rules that computers will follow. For example, if you wanted to stop your 5 year old brother from changing the computer settings, you could use an ACL to make sure he can't do that. You would set up a rule that only you are allowed to access and change the computer settings and your brother wouldn't be able to.
