ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Adapted physical education

Adapted Physical Education is a way to help students with special needs stay in shape and be physically active, just like non-disabled students. Instead of having everyone do the same exercises together, teachers work with each individual student to figure out what types of activities are best for them. Adapted Physical Education might include activities like using a special machine to help a student do an exercise, using equipment designed for a student with a disability, or modifying how an activity is done.
