ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Adult education in Africa

Okay kiddo! Let me explain it to you.

In some parts of Africa, people are grown-ups who didn't have the chance to learn when they were children. So, they need to go to school too, just like kids. This is called "adult education".

Adult education helps grown-ups learn how to read, write, and do math. They can also learn new skills, like farming or sewing, that can help them make money and support their families.

There are many different types of adult education programs in Africa. Some are government-run, while others are run by non-profit organizations. Some are in person, with a teacher in a classroom, while others are online.

Sadly, not everyone can go to adult education in Africa. Sometimes, it's because they live too far away from a school. Other times, their family might need them to work instead of going to school.

But when grown-ups are able to go to adult education, it can make a big difference in their lives. They can learn new things and have more opportunities for jobs and a better future for themselves and their families.
