ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aerial warfare

Okay, kiddo, so you know how different countries have armies with soldiers who fight on the ground, right? Well, some armies also have planes that can fly up in the sky and fight each other. This is called aerial warfare.

Now, imagine you have a toy plane. You can make it go up and down, left and right, and even spin around. A real plane can do that too, but it's way bigger and has people inside who control it, kind of like a superhero in a cape. These people are called pilots, and they have special training to fly planes.

When two planes from different armies meet each other in the sky, they try to fight each other like superheroes too. The pilots have weapons, just like superheroes have superpowers. Sometimes they shoot bullets, sometimes they launch missiles, which are kind of like firecrackers on steroids.

But it's not just about shooting each other down. Pilots also try to dodge enemy fire by doing cool tricks, like barrel rolls or loop-the-loops. Sometimes they also try to sneak up on the enemy by flying really low or hiding behind clouds. Basically, it's like playing a game of tag, but with way cooler toys.

And the best part is, the army that wins the aerial warfare gets to have control of the sky, just like how you get to pick what game to play with your friends when you win a game of tag. However, just like in any game, it's important to play fair and follow the rules, so that nobody gets hurt.
