Agricultural lime

Agricultural lime is like a special powder that helps farmers keep their crops healthy. You know how your mom or dad gives you medicine when you get sick? Well, farmers use agricultural lime because their soil can get sick too! When the soil gets sick, it can't grow the crops as well.

Agricultural lime is made from big rocks that are dug out from the earth. These rocks have a special type of mineral in them called "calcium carbonate."

When the rocks are turned into powder, it looks like very fine sand. When farmers sprinkle this powder on their fields, it helps the soil become less acidic. Soil that is too acidic is not good for most crops. It's like how some foods are good for your body and some foods are not.

Agricultural lime helps to balance the pH levels in the soil so that it's just right for the crops to grow. It also helps to add some important nutrients like calcium and magnesium that plants need to be healthy.

So when farmers add agricultural lime to their fields, it's like giving medicine to their soil to keep it healthy and happy. And when the soil is healthy, it can grow more food to feed everyone!
