Air travel is when people use big planes to fly through the air to get to far-away places.
To explain this, we can start by talking about what planes are. Planes are very big machines that have wings like birds. When planes are moving very fast, these wings help push air down, which makes the plane go up into the sky.
When you go on a plane trip, you usually start by going to the airport. Here, you check your bags and get your boarding pass. Your boarding pass tells you which gate to go to and what time your flight will leave.
After you pass through security, you go to the gate to wait for your flight. When it's time to board the plane, you show your boarding pass to someone at the gate and walk onto the airplane.
Inside the plane, you will see rows and rows of seats. This is where you will sit during the flight. The pilot is at the front of the plane and they control the plane to make sure it goes in the right direction and lands safely. The flight attendants help you with anything you need during the flight, like getting a drink or snack.
Once the plane takes off, you will feel like you are going up into the sky. When the plane levels off, you will feel like you are just sitting in a chair. During the flight, you can watch movies, listen to music, or take a nap.
When the plane lands, you will feel like you are coming back down to the ground. You will get off the plane and go to the baggage claim area to get your bags. Then, you can start your adventure in a new place!
