Ajanta Caves

Ajanta Caves are a group of ancient caves that were built over 2000 years ago in India. They were created by carving into the side of a big hill, and are filled with beautiful paintings and carvings.

Think of it like a big outdoor bedroom that was built a really long time ago, but instead of being made out of walls, it was made out of a big mountain. People worked really hard to make all of these pretty pictures and designs by carving them into the rock with special tools.

There are a total of 30 caves in the Ajanta Caves group, and each one is slightly different. Some caves have big halls with pillars, while others are smaller rooms. The paintings and carvings in the caves show stories from the life of Buddha, as well as other important people and events from ancient times.

The Ajanta Caves were abandoned for many years, but in the 19th century, they were rediscovered and became famous for their beautiful artwork. Today, the caves are a very popular tourist destination in India, and people from all over the world come to visit and admire the stunning artwork that was created so long ago.
