ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

All-wheel drive

All-wheel drive means that a car's power is delivered to all four wheels instead of just two. This helps the car to have better traction and grip on the road, which can be really important if you're driving on slippery surfaces like ice or snow.

Think of it like having four hands instead of two when you're trying to climb up a really steep hill. With all four hands, you can grip onto the ground better and climb up easier, just like a car with all-wheel drive can grip onto the road better and go through tough or slippery terrain easier.

All-wheel drive can be helpful when you're driving in areas with lots of snow or ice, or if you're going off-road where the ground might be uneven. However, it can also make the car heavier and less fuel-efficient, so it's not always the best choice for every type of driving.
